Fishing Boats

Your Fishing Boats

Fishing Boats have served different purposes and have helped fishers reach even the remotest fishing spots. The two major forms of fishing boats are freshwater fishing boats and Saltwater fishing boats. They can further be divided into the following:

Skiffs

These are also known as flatboats and are very much suitable for skinny waters. The boat length is measured between 15-19 feet and can accommodate two persons, including the captain.

It also contains safety and navigational equipment. The outboard motor requires less than 100 horsepower. It has a wide, flat bow for casting.

It is quite a good boat for fishing. It produces almost no noise such that fishes are caught unawares. However, it is not spacious and is largely affected by climatic changes.

Bay Boats

Unlike larger models, these are boats designed for coastal waters. They are shallow and powered through an outboard. They are very much similar to the centre console boats, but don’t feature many facilities and rarely provide enough comfort. Nonetheless, the decks can be used as a sun pad.

Centre Console Boats

These boats come in different shapes, styles and sizes. They are popular among the various saltwater fishing boats. However, it lacks comfort though many owners have customised their boats to seek little comfort.

Bass Boats

This type of boat is designed to serve a specific purpose – that is catching bass. It is a special kind of freshwater fishing boat and furnished with various accessories. And although its price is quite on the high side, their functions are limited.

Pontoon Boats

Pontoon Boats are designed as forms of fishing boats and therefore not desirable for seas that regularly produce large waves. However, it is endowed with different features and characteristics.

A Pontoon Boat is a flatboat that depends on a float. Pontoon boats are rather flexible and do accommodate changes to them. Although it is not safe, there is less risk of running under the water or experiencing underwater damage.
